Dentistry

Providing your pet with quality dental care does much more than just prevent bad breath. Without the proper care and attention, your companion’s teeth and gums can become a haven for bacteria, which can eventually lead to dental disease, a serious condition that can wreak havoc on his or her entire body. Periodontal disease is something that affects the majority of adult dogs and cats, but the good news is it’s preventable, provided you make a commitment to pet dentistry, both professional and at home.

Animal Hospital of Ludington has everything your pet needs to enjoy a healthy, happy mouth. We offer professional pet dentistry services including routine and preventative care, such as cleanings and exams, as well as the treatment of existing oral health conditions. Our team is highly skilled in the most modern pet dentistry techniques and we employ the use of cutting edge tools to provide your pet with the best available oral health care. Even if you’ve never paid much mind to your pet’s teeth, it’s never too late to start!

In addition to our role as your companion’s dentist, you also play an important role in helping your animal companion maintain good dental health. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will be happy to work with you to offer advice and guidance on dental care techniques that you can use at home to keep your pet’s teeth and gums clean in between vet visits. Together we will work hard to help your pet achieve a lifetime of good oral health.

  • What our clients have to say…

    • Julee Rae Sarto

The staff and Doctors are absolutely wonderful! They are going through a tough time with us and have the upmost compassion and technical ability to make this better. I commend them all. Thank you for dealing with my tears and helping with Fred.

Such a caring staff and doctors. They genuinely love animals and are so compassionate. After my dear cat Jade died at age 19, they sent me a condolence package - her paw prints in plaster & a little keepsake bottle with a lock of her hair. It came as a complete surprise about a week after she passed. Warmed my ♥️ more than I can express.

Wonderful staff. Nola could not possibly have been in better hands.

    • Jen Ely

We've been taking our dogs here for the least 10+ years and they are compassionate and caring with our pets and very informative when special care is needed. Truly grateful they are our vet.

I can’t thank the staff at Animal Hospital of Ludington enough. We brought our boy Henrik to you while camping at the state park and you got us in right away and were so great with him. He is usually terrified at the vet and has a lot of anxiety but he LOVED the staff there and was very calm the whole time. Thank you for making us out of towners feel right at home.

A big thank you to Dr. Paxton for agreeing to be Tessa’s new vet and participate in the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study. We moved to Michigan from Indiana just over 2 years ago and have been struggling to find a vet willing to participate which meant driving 3 1/2 hours each way once a year to our former vet. Dr. Paxton and his staff are wonderful. So glad I can finally say I have a vet I can trust my fur babies with.
